SMI Graduate Meetings

In spiritual teachings, we often hear that we are the creators of our own reality. However, the mechanism by which we do so is often not clearly addressed. Sometimes, it is viewed as a process of manifestation, where you attract more of what you focus on. At other times, it is explained using the concept of karma, where one receives what they deserve based on their past actions. In this workshop, I draw on Gregory Bateson to suggest a more direct way of understanding how we create our own world: By using different sets of categories, such as right/wrong, connected/disconnected, forced/free, authentic/inauthentic, to organise our experience. Understanding this in detail is truly a fast track to liberation.
